Kailash Vijayvargiya (born 13 May 1956) is an Indian politician serving as National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party. He started his political career in the Indore Bharatiya Janata Party, and was the mayor of Indore, a six-time legislator who has never lost an assembly election, and a state government cabinet minister for over 12 years before being elevated to the party's central leadership. Vijavargiya was made in charge of BJP's election campaign for Haryana in 2014, after which BJP gained a majority in the assembly election. This victory allowed him to gain a more central role in party leadership, and in June 2015 he was appointed national general secretary by party president Amit Shah, and the new leader of the BJP in West Bengal.

Kailash Vijayvargiya is the current general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Vijayvargiya became a member of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly in 1990 for the first time after he won the Indore-IV constituency by defeating Congress candidate Ikbal Khan. He received almost 60 per cent of votes in the constituency. He again won the election in 1993 from the new Indore-II constituency and retained it in 1998 and 2003. Vijayvargiya represented the Dr Ambedkar Nagar-Mhow Assembly constituency in 2008 and 2013 by defeating Congress candidate Antar Singh Darbar on both occasions. He won six Assembly elections in a row. He was given charge of several ministries including Public Works, Parliamentary Affairs, Urban Administration and Development, Religious Trusts, Endowment and Rehabilitation, Information Technology, Science and Technology, IT, Industries and Urban Development under successive Uma Bharti, Babulal Gaur and Shivraj Singh Chouhan regimes from 2003 to 2016. Vijayvargiya was the Mayor of Indore Municipal Corporation from 2000 to 2005. The BJP has fielded Vijayvargiya this time from the Indore-1 constituency against Congress candidate and sitting MLA Sanjay Shukla.

Vijavargiya was born on 13 May 1956 to Shankardayal Vijavargiya in Indore. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and later earned an LLB. Vijavargiya is married to Asha Vijayvargiya, with whom he has two sons, including politician Akash Vijayvargiya. He built world's highest Octa metal statue of Lord Hanuman in Indore. After 20 years, BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya received food. He was not eating grains for two decades and had given up all pulses including wheat, rice, maize, millet and jowar. He was eating only mordhan, rajgira, sago, fruits and vegetables. As a leader and organizer, he planned best ever Mahakumb as Ujjain in 2014.
