Edappadi K. Palaniswami is an Indian politician serving as the Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Edappadi constituency in Salem district. He is the current Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and the General Secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party. Palaniswami previously served as the 7th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 2017 to 2021. He is known for his focus on development, social work, farmer welfare, and infrastructure initiatives. Commonly respected as "Edappadiyaar," he has a strong base in Tamil Nadu politics and continues to lead AIADMK in its efforts to empower youth and support social causes
