In 2000, while in class 8, he joined the Students’ Federation of India (SFI). He rose through the ranks to become the State Secretary of SFI Kerala (2015-2018) and All India Joint Secretary of SFI. Vijin played a pivotal role in several landmark student movements, including the agitation for SCERT textbooks and the Justice for Jishnu Pranoy protest.
