
Sunetra Ajit Pawar
Mrs. Pawar single-handedly amassed a ground force for bringing environmental awareness to the core, spreading it across the country, and taking it global through her NGO, the Environmental Forum of India (EFOI). She aspires to spread the conservation message through plants, extinct species of wild life, water, and drought-prone projects, earning her the “Green Warrior Award.”

Nirmal Gram Campaign
Mrs. Pawar led the self-help group movement on the NIRMAL GRAM (Clean Village) Campaign in 86 villages in Maharashtra state. Mrs. Sunetra A. Pawar, transformed a tiny hamlet called Katewadi village into a “model village” and the first eco-village in 2008, with a focus on sanitation and health, promoting community lifestock management, solid waste management, sewage treatment by green bridge technology, energy conservation through biogas power generation, and a solar street lighting system.
This earned her many honors, including the SANT GADGEBABA SWACHATHA ABHIYAN AWARD, the CYBER GRAM AWARD, and the NIRMAL GRAM AWARD from the Hon. President of India, Smt. Pratibhatai Patil, as well as recognition from the SACOSAN Summit, which is part of SAARC. Thus, she played a key role in organic farming and the use of bioagents, vermicompost, and green manure.
Baramati Hi-Tech Textile Park Ltd.
Since 2006, Mrs. Sunetra Pawar has served as chairperson of BARAMATI HI-TECH TEXTILE PARK LTD, a multimodal garment manufacturer’s park under the central government’s Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks.
It provides subsidies, women’s empowerment, and training facilities to assist units in upgrading skills among BHTPL families and reaching out to larger societies.
Textile Park employs over 15,000 women, the majority of whom live in rural areas. Mrs. Pawar was honored at the “Icons of Pune” Awards. BHTPL was visited by Hon. President Smt. Pratibhatai Patil. Her Majesty appreciated Mrs. Pawar’s work, especially for women’s empowerment.
Vidya Prasthisthan
Mrs. Pawar, Trustee of a renowned educational institute, VIDYA PRASTHISTHAN (VP), founded by Shri. Sharad Pawar, Union Agricultural Minister, Govt. of India, devotes her time to regularly overseeing activities and pioneering efforts towards spreading education and social upbringing of more than 25000 students, believing that “the child of today is the future of the nation.”
Whether it is managing a political constituency on behalf of a family member, interacting with visitors, or participating in national and international assignments involving Katewadi, an NGO, an agro-tourism center, or Vasundhara Community Radio, she leads all of it with vigour and vitality.
Mrs. Sunetra Pawar spends her leisure time at Vrudhahsram Old Age Home, on the outskirts of Baramati. She is the trustee and advisor for the ashram, so she oversees all developments and the well-being of the senior citizens.
