Tulsi Ram Silawat is an Indian politician serving as a cabinet minister in the Madhya Pradesh state government and a two-time representative of the Sanwer constituency in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He took the oath as a cabinet minister in the new Madhya Pradesh government on 25 December, 2018. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 21 March, 2020, and took oath as the Water Resources Minister under Shivraj Singh Chouhan's cabinet on 21 April, 2020. On 20 October, 2020, he resigned from the post of Water Resources Minister. Because, as per Article 164 of the Indian Constitution, a minister who is not a member of the House must be elected to an assembly within 6 months of being appointed minister.

Tulsi Ram Silawat is the present Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister for Water Resources and Fisheries under Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He is also considered a close aide of Union Cabinet Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Silawat also chose to side with Scindia during the Madhya Pradesh political crisis in 2020 when 22 Congress MLAs loyal to Scindia resigned and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Silawat is representing the Sanwer constituency in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly. In 2008, he won the seat by defeating BJP's Nisha Prakash Sonkar with a margin of 3,417 votes. However, he was defeated by BJP candidate Rajesh Sonkar by over 17,000 votes in the 2013 Assembly polls. He made a comeback in 2018 and won the seat again by defeating Sonkar with a margin of 2,945 votes. He again won the constituency in 2020 bypoll. He also served as Minister for Health and Family Welfare in the Kamal Nath Cabinet from 2018 to 2020. Tulsi Ram Silawat won the election from Sanwer for the first time in 1985. However, he lost two consecutive elections from Sanwer in 1990 and 1993. Silawat is contesting against Congress candidate Reena Baurasi Setiya in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2023.
