Manappa D Vajjal (born August 15, 1963) is an Indian politician, currently serving as a Chairman of the Hutti Gold Mines Limited from Lingasugur constituency, since 2020. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party party.

  • Vajjal won the 2008 and 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election as a representative of the Lingsugur Assembly constituency. Manappa Vajjal was born to Dyavappa and Mudakamma in Gejjalagatta village in Lingasugur taluk on 15 August 1963.
  • Karnataka is witnessing a direct contest between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress. However, the Janata Dal - Secular (JD-S) is eyeing the kingmakers status. Among the top candidates who are in the fray in Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023 are former state CM Siddaramaiah, who is contesting from Varuna seat.
  • CM Basavaraj Bommai is the sitting MLA from Shiggaon seat and will be trying to retain the constituency. DK Shivakumar, Karnataka Congress president is contesting from Kanakpura seat. Voting on all 224 seats of Karnataka Assembly is scheduled for May 10 and results will be declared on May 13. The results of Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023 will be crucial before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP is hoping to do well in the state polls ahead of general elections as it will set the tone for the party in South India.
