Mohammed Shahnawaz Alam

Mohammed Shahnawaz Alam is a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Jokihat constituency in Araria district, Bihar. He is affiliated with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and has been serving since May 2018. Shahnawaz Alam previously joined the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and won the 2020 assembly election on their ticket before rejoining RJD in 2022. He served as the Cabinet Minister for Disaster Management in Bihar until February 2024. Known for his focus on local infrastructure development, disaster management, and social welfare, he actively works toward the upliftment of marginalized communities in his flood-prone constituency.
