Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare Dr. Deepak Sawant is Shiv Sena MLC (Maharashtra Legislative Council), representing the Mumbai graduate constituency. He is also guardian minister of Bhandara district and Dharashiv (Osmanabad) District.

Dr. Deepak Sawant is well-known as a Personality working for the benefit of the people and dedicated his prime period to Social, Political, Educational, Medical Backdrops.

He is known for his Wide friend circle and Close relationship with personalities from various ranges of society. Let it be Higher Strata of society or ower strata of society there is no difference in his approach.

Born In Mumbai, Functioning area of work is Mumbai but expanded his wings from Kutch to Tamilnadu & Kerala ready to work anywhere, Mokhada, Melghat, Satpuda’s Adivasi Problems, understanding them, trusting them and make believing them and submitting their problems in the legislative council.

In opposition he always raised his voice for Malnutrition problem in each & every session. He has raised the questions regarding poor Adivasi malnourished Children, malpractices of Ashramshala like their students not getting quality food in schools and hostels, notebooks, textbooks, stationery which are to be provided under the “SARV SHIKSHA ABHIYAAN”. As a member of legislative council he persistently compelled government to issue “Whitepaper” report on malnutrition.
