On 19 October 2014, Bachchu Kadu won the assembly election, defeating congress candidate Bablu Deshmukh candidate by more than 10000 votes. This was the first time in Achalpur assembly elections that a candidate won three times in succession.In 2019 election he won the assembly election by total of 81,252 votes which 44% of the total voters.He is the first candidate to be elected for a fourth consecutive term in Achalpur Assembly elections. He is Leader of Prahar Janshakti Party. He is part of Newly formed MahaVikas Aaghadi or MVA. the banner called Prahar Yuvashakti Sanghatana that became the Prahar Party.

Omprakash Babarao Kadu alias Bacchu Kadu is an Independent MLA from Achalpur located in Amravati district. Bacchu Kadu is known for his different style andolan. He climbed an overhead water tank with his supporters and threatened to jump down if the police apprehended them in December 2006. His 'Sholay' styled agitation made attempt to draw the attention of the central government to Vidarbha farmers’ suicides. After senior ministers gave an assurance that Kadu’s demands would be taken up for discussion in the state cabinet within a month, Kadu and his followers agreed to end their agitation, 24 hours after they started it. Kadu ended the agitation only after warning then Deputy Chief Minister R.R.Patil that if his demands were not considered within a month, he would resume the agitation. On Friday,14 January 2011 Kadu brutally beat a Health ministry clerk, Chandravdan Hagavane. The Maharashtra Secretariat employee union responded with a strike. The police station registered a complaint against Kadu.He beat Indian National Party's candidate Wasudha Deshmukh in the assembly election. On 19th October 2014, Kadu won the assembly election a third time, defeating BJP candidate by more than 10,000 votes. This is the first time in Achalpur assembly constituency where any candidate has won three times in succession.
Kadu and his followers were working under the banner called Prahar Yuvashakti Sanghatana that became the Prahar Party.He helps many poor patients by taking them to Mumbai for medical treatment and organizes blood donation camps regularly in his constituency. He help patients by giving them medical aid up to 18 lakh for major surgery.

बच्चूभाऊंच्या कार्याची सुरूवात झाली तीच मुळी रुग्णसेवेने. मित्राच्या उपचारासाठी मुंबईला जावे लागणार होते. जवळ पैसे नसल्यामुळे त्यांनी घरातला कापूस चोरून विकला. त्या तुटपुंज्या पैशावर विनातिकीट प्रवास करत मुंबईत दाखल झाले. एक वेळ जेवण करून मित्रावर उपचार केला. हा अनुभव त्यांना बरेच काही शिकवून गेला. आणि मग ठरवले. रुग्णसेवा करायची. रुग्णसेवेसारख्या समाजकार्यातून सुरू झालेला प्रवास ‘प्रहार’ पक्ष स्थापना करण्यापर्यंत पोहोचला. आज ‘प्रहार’च्या माध्यमातून ही रुग्णसेवा मोठ्या प्रमाणावर राबवली जाते. गरीब माणसाचे दुःख किती मोठे असते? साधा ताप आला तरी त्यांच्याजवळ औषधाला पैसा नसतो. मग त्यांना हृदयरोगासारखा आजार झाला तर? त्यांनी तसेच मरावे का? गाडगेबाबांच्या भूमीतले आपण. त्यांच्या विचारांना मूठमाती द्यावी का? नाही ना! बच्चुभाऊ आणि ‘प्रहार’ पक्ष नेमके हेच करतो. गरिबांले मदत. वरील छायाचित्रात बच्चुभाऊंनी खेड तालुक्यातल्या सहा मुलींना त्यांच्या शस्त्रक्रियेचा खर्च करण्यासाठी दत्तक घेतले.
प्रहार’ची काठी, अपंगांच्या मदतीसाठी! ‘जगात कोण गरीब आणि कोण श्रीमंत?’ या प्रश्नावर बच्चुभाऊंचा उत्तर म्हणजे- ‘जो अपंग आहे तो गरीब आणि अपंग नाही तो श्रीमंत.’ बच्चुभाऊंच्या विचारांची कुवतच त्यांना असामान्य ठरवते. मदत कुणाला, कुठे, कशी करावी हे बच्चुभाऊंकडूनच शिकावं. रुग्णसेवा करता करता रक्तदान-नेत्रदान. आणि पुन्हा अपंगांचे प्रश्न-समस्या. बच्चूभाऊंनी आजपर्यंत अनेक अपंगांना हरतर्हेने मदत केली आहे. बच्चुभाऊंनी स्वतःचं लग्न थाटामाटात करण्यापेक्षा त्यातील खर्चातून अपंगांना मदत करणं महत्त्वाचं वाटलं. त्यावेळी त्यांनी --- अपंगांना व्हीलचेअर देऊन मदत केली. आता त्यांची दृष्टी एका वेगळ्याच लक्ष्याकडे आहे. अपंगांसाठी व्यापक उपक्रम राबवण्यासाठी ते प्रयत्नरत आहेत. अपंग मेळावे आणि शिबीरांच्या माध्यमातून त्यांचे प्रश्न-समस्या समजावून घेत आहेत. त्या समस्यांवर दूरदृष्टी ठेवून उपाययोजना कशा राबवता येतील यासाठी त्यांनी मोर्चेबांधणी सुरू केली आहे. येत्या काळात अपंगांना बच्चुभाऊंच्या रूपाने त्यांच्या हिताची जपणूक करणारा कार्यकर्ता आणि नेता मिळालेला असेल, हे अगदी नक्की!
