Shree VN Vasavan

V. N. Vasavan is a seasoned Indian political leader currently serving as the Minister for Ports, Co-operation, and Devaswoms in the Government of Kerala. He is the elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Ettumanoor constituency in Kottayam district, Kerala, representing the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)]. Born on 9 August 1954 in Mattakkara, Kottayam District, he started his political journey with student movements and steadily rose within the CPI(M) ranks. Vasavan has held several key roles, including Kottayam District Secretary of CPI(M), president of cooperative banks, and Chairperson of RUBCO. He is known for his extensive work in cooperative development, ports management, and cultural initiatives, making significant contributions to Kerala’s social and economic sectors. Vasavan is widely respected for his grassroots leadership, commitment to public welfare, and dedication to cooperative movements.
